Do you love to write poetry? Want to share your work with your friends in Belchertown? Or just interested in reading your favorite poem?

On Monday, April 19th at 7 PM, the Friends of Clapp Memorial Library are sponsoring an Open Mic Poetry Reading at the Clapp Memorial Library. Poets of all types are invited to bring original works or other favorites to read during an evening celebrating poetry, libraries and spring. Refreshments will be served.
We recommend you sign up in advance, but readers can register the night of the event as well. To register or for more information, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it today!

Congratulations to Donna Robbins who guessed the closest number of candies in the Candy Jar at the Library! The Candy Jar has been a regular contest for several years...the Friends fill the jar with candy (after counting every piece) and then visitors to the Library can make guesses as to how many pieces there are. This year there were 1,830 pieces!
The Friends would like to extend a special *thank you* to Denise Smith for coordinating, counting and preparing the Candy Jar!

Donna Robbins and her children Quinn Kenneally and Ian Kenneally.
